A Guide to Choosing the Perfect Mattress Firmness in Pakistan
SHARE

To choose a firm mattress, a number of indicators are taken into account. These are the needs of a particular user (his weight, age), as well as the features of the product itself. For the rigidity of the product, the fillers matter, and also what weight it is designed for, what technology it is made by. Thanks to comprehensive analysis, it is easy to find a solution that is ideal for a particular person. Sometimes the mattress that is average for another buyer will be hard for the user. Let’s take a closer look at the nuances.

Who Needs A Firm Mattress

The first criterion that is relied on when choosing a mattress is age. Each age category has its own recommendations for rigidity:

Children from 0 to 3 years old: For small children under three years old, only the hardest beds without orthopedic properties are suitable.

Children from 3 to 13 years old: At this age, the active formation of the musculoskeletal system still takes place. But the requirements for choosing mattresses are no longer so strict. Thick or medium-hard models are suitable for children under 13 years old. From this age, products with orthopedic properties (including those with independent springs) are allowed.

Teenagers, young people under 25 years old: Our musculoskeletal system is formed on average before the age of 25. This means that the previous recommendations for choosing the characteristics of the mattress are preserved. For young people from this category, sleeping surfaces of medium or high hardness are suitable. Orthopedic models are also recommended to them.

Adults from 25 to 55 years old: At a young and mature age, the firmness of the mattress is chosen taking into account the state of health, preferences, body weight. We will talk about the last point in a little more detail later.

Adults over 55 years old: With age, the condition of our bones, joints, and internal organs changes. They become more sensitive to pressure, so even lovers of hard beds are advised to reconsider their preferences and choose softer bases for the bed.

For the categories listed, it is clear that firm mattresses are mandatory for children under 3 years old, preferably up to 25 years old and allowed for use up to 55 years old. After this age, high hardness is usually undesirable (but there are exceptions).

People From 25 Years Old, Taking Into Account Weight

Surface hardness is an indicator that varies depending on the degree of pressure applied. The light body practically does not give any load – even soft springs or layers do not sag much under it. And if a person weighs a lot, even metal spirals under him bend more, which is why they can often form a pit. For this reason, there are separate recommendations for different weights.

Up to 55 kg: Usually, people with this weight are recommended to buy soft models. But if the owner of a fragile figure wants to choose a firm mattress, then he needs to initially focus on medium-firm structures. Since the weight is small, it will put minimal pressure on the surface – a design with average indicators will just create the necessary density.

55-90 kg: Medium-density products are recommended for people with this weight. If you want a higher density, focus on rigid models, but with one caveat: with a permissible load of no more than 120 kg.

More than 90 kg: Here the situation is reversed. When you need a hard best mattress in Pakistan , and the user’s weight is large, it is better to take the permissible load with a good margin. For example, with a dead weight of 90 kg and a permissible load of 140 kg, the body will definitely not press the surface.

Stiffness indicators and permissible load are always indicated by the manufacturer when describing each model. Before buying, both parameters are correlated – only on their basis is the right product chosen. If you take into account only one characteristic (load or your weight), the risks of making a mistake are high.

Fillers Responsible For Hardness

If you need a firm best mattress in Pakistan that can retain its original density for years, focus on the mid-price segment and more expensive types of products with a good composition. Budget structures often lose this property over time. Holes, irregularities appear on them, they react poorly to increased load. Of the high-quality materials used to increase the rigidity of products

High-density polyurethane foam (polyurethane foam): Not everyone understands that even artificial latex is a type of polyurethane foam. And this material is just very popular in springless solid models. It is less elastic than natural latex, supports the body well and has a slight orthopedic effect. Usually, a synthetic analogue can withstand up to 120 kg of load (but this depends on the manufacturing technology).

Coconut coir: In hard mattresses designed for babies under 3 years old, pressed coir is used without additional processing. It is the densest and does not have any orthopedic properties. For older children and adults, the material is additionally treated – impregnated with latex. Latex coir is a little more flexible, more elastic, but retains a high level of rigidity.

Bikokos: Another dense filler is made from a mixture of natural coconut and synthetic fibers. The density is still high, but due to the added synthetics, the coir serves longer, it is less susceptible to negative factors. Natural latex. It is often used in medium-hard, solid models. In the latter, latex slabs are usually reinforced with coconut coir sheets – this combination gives the desired result.

Spring independent blocks: We do not consider Bonnel’s dependent structures, because over time they create a hammock effect, sag. And with this effect, the hardness indicators also decrease. Independent blocks are better in this sense, but there is a misconception that the stiffness depends on the number of springs. It’s not that. Products that use 256 springs per square meter and models with 2 thousand coils per bed may well have the same stiffness. But the degree of orthopedics is higher in the second option.

When choosing a hard surface, make sure that this density is suitable for your specific application. Then consider the ratio of your weight to the maximum permissible load specified by the manufacturer. Be sure to look at what the model consists of. We recommend focusing on products that combine two or more of the above materials.
